Starting to breed!

I just introduced my new male into a 29g tank with my Female. Im worried she wont produce any eggs because she is just over a year old. How long after I introduce the male can I expect eggs?

If you're lucky, probably 1 1/2 - 2 years. I would suggest taking him out and reading the care sheat on here or buying a good book on ball python husbandry and breeding. How much do they weigh? How new is he, did you quarantine him? It sounds like you have a lot of reading to do before you try breeding.

He's breeding leopard geckos, not ball pythons.

I think he might has clicked it thinking he was in the ball python section. But yes, leopard geckos, not balls.

It depends, some female geckos are perfectly fine at one year, and someare not. It depends on their weight. Ive seen alot of one year old's have babys, just make sure she has alot of calcium to make those eggs.

Generally males are ready to breed at around 40-45 grams, and females at 45-50 grams.

She is abnormally fat around her abdomen and Im pretty sure she has at least one egg. She dug a small hole yesterday in the middle of the tank outside of a hide. I thought she might be making some kind of nest but never laid an egg. Is it normal for them to lay eggs in the open like that? I have a plastic container with vermiculite and a hole fore egg laying but I have only seen her in it once and she didn't stay long.
