I know what you mean my Dumerils has a huge viv compared to his current size and where does he deposit both types of waste? Under the Aspen exactly where he likes most to burrow under it. Last time I took him out he had some stuck on him, . Why they feel the need to do this I have no idea. My carpet python just can't seem to do her "business" with out doing it DIRECTLY in her water bowel, .

Boids are weird animals. Good news is I gave my new RTB a nice small adult rat today and none of the timid eating of the first one, nope SLAMMMMEDDDDDD it, Guess he just needed time to settle in. I am glad I finally took on a RTB even with 14 other species I think he is quickly becoming my favorite.

They'll slither right into your heart...no house is a home without a boa.

I can certainly agree with the second rule, but it's not that bad really if kept on a thick layer of aspen. They are very rewarding snakes

Jack, he's absolutely gorgeous! I can see why he spoke to you. Welcome to the wonderful world of owning an RTB! They very quickly steal your heart.

I love the feeding response of these types of snakes. They generally do exactly what you saw - incredibly fast, bull strong, very long strike range type of feeding. If a ball python refuses we don't generally worry immediately, but if one of the boa's won't eat....well that's an event to wonder about LOL.

    No Worries Franky,

I did enough zoo work in the past to have cleaned up more then a few horse sized dump piles from boas, conda, burms and retics. It ain't that bad, have you ever cleaned up after a big cribo?
