Sewing Question

Hey all-

Does anyone here sew? If so I have a question. I want to make a crib set (fitted sheet, flat sheet, bumper, etc.) and need to know...can quilting material be used? The fabric found in the quilting section of the store?

You can use any material you want to make sheets. Some material will last longer, or resist staining better.. but in the end, they all will work.
I'd stay away from the spandex, or any plasticy materials, but otherwise it should be fine.
100% cotton, and flannel in particular is very nice for baby sheets and blankies.

It can be used, I'd wash it at least once and preferably four or five times to soften it up. Most of the fabric stores sell tons of very cute printed soft flannels that will be a bit more gentle on baby skin.

I agree~ flannels are best and they have some really nice and heavy and soft flannels. I would still wash the material a few times before sewing to soften it up. I've made all my grandkids sheet sets, and everything else! Turns out great and when they are no longer in a crib I use a sheet to be the underside of a blanket that I sew for them. Grandkids are the best!!!
