Just felt like sharing a story of a lost snake and how I found her a bit later.
A while back, I moved one of my boaphile rhino racks to a new location. I guess one of the dividers popped out of the grove (I was using the small sweaterbox sterilites) and provided a gap big enough for one of the animals to get lose. The animal was lost in my room for around a week. It was feeding day and I had some live rats that I was going to pre-kill and feed, but while prepping one, the hemostats slipped and the rat gets loose.
Great. Now I have a lose Juvi ball AND a live rat in my room. I feed everyone and finish things. A while later I hear an odd sound, some rustling, then a squeak. The squeak was that of a rat being ambushed. I suspected the lose ball had found the rat, but thought that was a long shot. A bit of time goes by and I hear the rustling sound again. This time I pinpoint where the sound is and I find the rat... and the ball python. The loose ball python caught and ate the loose rat.
I retrieve the ball who is nice and full and place her back in her drawer.
Thought it was kind of cool how finding the loose ball python went down.![]()
