As long as you leave him alone and don't push him to eat too soon, you should be fine. If he regurges a second time, however, definitely get him to a vet ASAP.

Wow. To be perfectly honest I never knew regurgitation was such a serious (i.e. life threatening) matter. None of my snakes have ever regurged, though. I imagine this goes for pythons as well as boas?

    Re: What the CRAP!!!

Yes, it's just as dangerous for pythons.

It has to do with the acid buildup from a regurge. A regurge is hard on a snake's body anyway, but if they do it more than one, the acid buildup can be so high that it kills them... or they just keep regurging.

    Re: What the CRAP!!!

Vet confirmed undigested poop. He said no way that the snake would regurge that one week after he ate.

    Re: What the CRAP!!!

Um... yeah, there IS a possibility. A week really isn't that long in terms of snake digestion... and it wasn't a week, anyway, it was only five days. It's certainly possible.

    Re: What the CRAP!!!

Yeah but at the same time sometimes all the hair isn't always digested. It's not necessarily regurge. Plus there are urates it looks like, and it's rather neatly 'packaged' if you will.

*pardon my lack of looking close enough, that's not urates, that's half a mouse... while still not necessarily regurge, that's not really all that good. at all.

    Re: What the CRAP!!!

After 5-6 days a snake can still regurge. Must be nice to have a vet thats open on Sundays too.

Like I stated before.... Nothing looks like it has any feces on it, not even the water the "poop" was in. No uraites, or anything. Also, I have never seen a snake poo 1/3 of an intact mouse before with tail still attached.

    I'm still saying regurge.

    Just some thoughts.
