Was the article referring to snakes? lizards? All reptiles?

I know some lizards eat their shed, which probably helps them recycle important nutrients. So I could understand an article that recommends leaving any uneaten shed in a lizard's enclosure, to give them a chance to eat it.

I can't think of a reason why you'd do it with snakes.
