For Emily (Update on the girls)

Well it’s been 23 days since the girls have been in my care so I thought I would do a little update (opportunity for some cool pics)

I am still having problem seeing if they eat their CGD or not but I know they are doing good since they both put on a little weight.

They love their crickets and wax worms.

    Here is Daytona 7 grams

    Here is Savannah 6 grams

aaw, thanks for the update! they look great.

the biggest worry of new crested owners is whether they are eating their cgd or not. most of the time they are, they just don't eat that much at one time so it's hard to tell if you are giving them more than a very small amount.

also, just curious which type of diet you are feeding? a few times i have had people that were feeding the kind out of the bottle with the purple lid like you get at petsmart have some trouble getting the geckos to eat it. i buy the kind that comes in the big silver bags (i order from pangea reptile) and apparently they taste different. in these cases the geckos always did come around and eat the bottled version, they just didn't take to it right away because it wasn't what they were used to.

I feed this which is sold under T-Rex brand (Purple Bottle)

    http://superfoods.repashy.com/

However from this site, it seems to be the same product (Repashy Superfoods by T-Rex) with different packaging

    I am confused now

I've always had better luck with the stuff from Pangea, too. I think they mix in more banana flavoring with the base? At least, this is what I was told at the Indy reptile show.

You can mix in different flavors, too, which is kinda nice. I'm using the rose flavoring for my only boy now, and he eats the stuff like it's going outta style.

the kind in the bag is basically an updated version of the kind in the bottle. same basic product with a few changes and definitely more banana-ish.

in any case, the girls might be feeling wary of the change even though it is only slight. you might hand feed them a bit to help convince them the bottled version is good too. all of the geckos that didn't like the bottled stuff at first came around after a while, once they realized they weren't going to be getting any of the other stuff. (they're funny like that--they will try to hold out for something better if they think they might get it!)

Well I was planning on ordering the other CGD from Pangea anyway, I just got the purple bottle to get me started.

I guess I will place an order tonight.

Do you use the CGD alone or do you also mix the flavor nectar with it?

I was thinking they might enjoy mango or banana! Any thought on that?

Re: For Emily (Update on the girls)

i think the regular/complete cgd is banana flavored but it might have something else mixed in as well. i have tried strawberry and mango and they seem to like both but i mainly just feed the complete diet. the complete diet also seems to mix up a little better--the other where you mix the flavor in seems to separate more.

I think banana is the original flavor, though a little more banana never hurt anyone.

I love mixing the flavors up a bit... My dude loves the rose. I've heard strawberry goes over well, too. And it smells awesome! Lol
