Sealing a rack

I made a rack heres a pic. What should I use to seal it thats safe for my snakes?

any kind of wood sealint that is nonharmful to animals

most likely the ppl at the hardware store will no what to get

I just dont want it too warp that would be very bad lol

you could buy Melamine Sheeting ( it comes in rolls i believe) that you can iron on to the wood.

You could also buy Linoleum as well ( though this is softer and would eventually have to be replaced)

You could get Plexiglass

Those are a few ideas off the top of my head, experiment, see what works best for you!

Polyurathane is used on floors and is very durable. it will seal the wood which should prevent warping although you don't want to let wood get soaked. The waterbased products are much lower in VOC's (votile organic compounds) and once completely dry (no more smell) should be water resistant and safe. Get a high quality one that can be used for floors. The water based may need 3-4 coats but it dries pretty quick.

Oil based polys have much stronger thinners and chemicals.

Water based would be best. You could also use an oil based one, but you'd want to let it cure/dry for a long long long long time.
