Now thats just plain weird. I suppose that it might actually have some benefit because the snake would take in some calories instead of soaking in plain water. This is the reason that some people advocate soaking badly dehydrated snakes in pedialite or gatoraid, giving them some electrolytes and calories to hopefully give them enough strength to start feeding and drinking on their own again.
Now, I've heard of soaking the rat in chicken broth for scenting purposes, but balls are not known for being big bird eaters and I doubt that it would be very beneficial. This is more for burms or arboreals that are noted for feeding on birds in the wild.
