Re: What to do about hides?
Took mine all of about 2 seconds to make his way under the paper.

Dvas put the comics on the bottom and yours will look for it. Trust me.

Re: What to do about hides?
Nope...my bloods meditate instead in their nice, non-inkstained cages.

Re: What to do about hides?
Having ink stained cages is only a problem if the articles were boring.

Re: What to do about hides?
Huh????? Evidently you've never had a white cage covered in inkstains from newspaper substrate after a blood python swamps its water bowl & then goes for a cruise, trashing the substrate. No thanks!
I will not use printed newspaper as a substrate. Pelleted paper & kraft paper, yes. Nothing with ink on it makes its way into my cages. Cannot stand the way it looks, cannot stand the way ink sometimes stains snakes (especially albinos, etc), especially in higher-humidity environments.
Have used it in the past, never will again. PERIOD.

Re: What to do about hides?
I'm just being silly.
I haven't noticed any ink stains in my snakes tank. Yes I've heard of it, no I don't see it.
Where do you all find the unprinted stuff at?

Re: What to do about hides?
Uline is a place to start. I get my plain kraft paper from packagingsupplies.com, and the paper pellets are Harlan-Teklad through a local distributor.

Re: What to do about hides?
Earl - if you want to try some kraft paper before committing to buying a whole bunch (they sell it in big bundles), drop me a line & I'll send you some. Shipping on the bundles can be a little expensive, so you may want to test it out first before buying a bunch & then deciding you don't like it.
