Ground Boas?

I have someone who wants to sell me there ground boa.
I've been kind of wanting a boa, but I've never really heard much about ground boas.
I was doing the google thing and noticed different kinds of ground boas, like Madagascar and so on.
If someone says they want to sell there ground boa to you, what species/or morph (not sure of the wording) would a normal ground boa be?? or is it just called a Ground Boa? Anyone have any pictures too???

I'm Ok with the pictures. I was spelling it wrong in the search field on this site but when I spelt it right I had tons of nice shots of Dumerils. They look hot! And they dont seem to get REALLY big either!

Ok I feel weird because I'm the only one replying to my own post but anyway...

I've been doing a lot of reading because I'm really thinking about getting this ground boa, if the person will tell me what kind of ground boa it is first....

But anyway, there aren't many care sheets on dumeril's ground boas, but I heard they are almost like red-tail boa only smaller so I have been reading lots about them.

But I have a question. I know a ground boa doesn't need height in the enclosure but needs ground space.
What size of tank or tub would you need?

4 feet long and maybe 2 feet wide would do, do ya think?
Just wanted some ideas because I'm going to Zellers today and I will pick up a tub or too while I'm there!

That sounds like the right size to me, if the "ground boa" is full size. There is a few different types. Are you sure you're getting a dumeril's? If so, you need stuff for them to burrow into. I use newspaper and crumple it up really good for them. Also, I treat my dumerils just like any other RTB and they are just fine. The only thing they seem to differ from is when they are in shed. They only soak when they are in shed if I don't raise the humidity up to like 70%. That's the only difference that I've noticed.

Yeah, I'm still not sure what kind it is, she just said I can give you a ground boa. Not much info! I emailed her for more info!

They seem like good snakes Dumerils, so if it is one I might have a go at it. I need to get the setup up and going soon if I am to do it too...
I might have more questions tomorrow so don't go far! lol

Well I guess it is a Solomon Island Ground Boa and from what I heard they are a weird snake. They eat lizards!? Cold blooded animals?? I dont think I can buy feeder frogs anywhere around here! I've never heard of them being sold.
And the lady tells me it's 2 1/2 feet long, and she thinks it's a girl because she knows someone who has a boy snake and she says it looks different sexually. (Thats a weird idea) I didnt know snakes have a sex look to them. weird eh! and she wants 150 bucks for it.

Anyone know how big these suckers get? I was hoping for something like 4-5-6 feet, but I think i read somehwere they are a smaller boa?!

Probably Candoia carinata paulsoni. About 3-4, sometimes can be switched over to rodents. Cooler temps, slower metabolisms...

qiksilver is right on with the info. They are a weird boa, but they can be switched. Scent the MICE, rats have to strong an order, with house geckos....this may help switch him/her. As for the sexing, the lady is a little goofy! lol. She may be right, who knows? They don't get much bigger than maximum of 4 feet maybe. Good boa, but a little tougher to keep and handle than a dumeril.

There are quite a few Condoia that people swear can be sexed visually, I got a little lesson at a local herp show in October. Seems its true.

except for C. aspera for some odd reason. I had a female that was really male looking.
