Office agony
Okay. This is embarrasing. I must sit in the most horrible spot ever.
I've been sitting here all day, working on the computer, listening to music, when a huge noxious gas cloud of pure evil and nasty comes floating from someone's office and lingers over my desk. It makes me want to die, puking, and crunch up into the fetile position.
Oh, my, god, it's been going on ALL DAY.
I work on the left side of an aisle, and there are offices down my left and right side. I've had my suspicions before as to who was leakin the gas (Yes, this is not the first time hell descended on me), but they were gone for most of today. Now I'm afraid it's the really quiet person you should never tick off!
I'm so grossed out right now, and I really want to tell whoever it is to shut their door, cuz it's making me sick. But of course, I would never have the guts to do that, and second, I don't really want to be any closer to that office right now.
Can you imagine? Oh please tell me there is an end in sight! Is it 3:30 yet??!!

oh god you poor thing. When I worked in an office, we also had an offending gasser. After a few times of hours of gagging and eyes tearing we all came in armed with spray air fresheners. The next time the gasser gassed off, we took turns and walked around and sprayed. After a few times of us "fighting" back, the gasser got the hint and closed their door. Might work for you.

Yea, that is a good idea! Except, I'm sorta on an island over here by myself. It's mostly higher ups in the offices, I wouldn't want to offend anyone, but I may sneak in a candle or reed diffuser soon.

and they're not offending you?! girl, the title "higher ups" doesn't mean "entitled to rude or gassy behaviour". Obviously the person gassing off is not worrying about offending your nose so spray away. If you get questioned, just say that occassionally this nasty odor gets stuck by your desk and it makes you feel ill. Its not exactly lying and your not offending anyone or blaming anyone. I'd do both, the candle and the spray. good luck.

Re: Office agony
i used to work in closed-door office space (big building with a bunch of smaller rooms with multiple work stations) with all guys. there was no air-flow or ventillation in that room and let me tell you, there were smells. one of the guys was particularly sweaty and one of them was particularly gassy. let me tell you, regardless of the close quarters and the fact that we could all clearly see eachother with desks back to back, i used lots of spray and candles.

Well this is now a hot topic in the bay! Some girls went to the restroom and snagged some of those metered air fresheners. Sprayin away, and now everyone is gossiping about what it could possibly be. LOL
Some have even said a family of rats died in the airducts. I don't know what or who it is, but it is NASTY. Glad to see I haven't been the only one suffering!

Re: Office agony
so sorry! that must be absolutely unbarable...
I'd definately bring a odor neutralizing candle to work if I were you. It's a least worth a shot.
