    Re: Side tracked!!

LOL sounds like my day the other day. I trotted upstairs to our master bedroom intending to spend maybe an hour tidying up one of the three huge walk-in closets we have up there. It's my seasonal closet and I needed it sorted out before I packed away the Xmas stuff. Seems a simple, sort of straightforward project...right...ummm...not so much!

Here's a short run down of just how mis-directed I get...

    - start sorting the closet but then decide suddenly I just MUST assemble that tv stand we got for Xmas (personally I have no idea why this related to the closet but my brain is well...my brain! LOL)

    - spend 15 minutes slapping this together and about 45 minutes doing the one stupid drawer in it! one bandaid and a blister later, plus a lot of cussing and I'm back to the closet finally

    - find a bag of winter gear I forgot about tucked in a back corner, and waste yet more time sorting it into piles of stuff the kids will grow into, stuff to go to the Salvation Army, stuff to give to a friend's kid

    - discover more crap I forgot I owned

    - interrupt the work for a short session of running around our bedroom screaming because there's a spider web in my hair and I detest creepy crawlies!

    - shove the dog out of the bedroom because she's concerned her mamma is running around screaming (note: my husband never noticed! geesh!)

    - dive back in the closet, eye out for the many legged creatures and finally find the floor and walls under the mass of previously mentioned crapola we seem to collect

    - smile happily at the now well organized closet!

    - turn around, notice that I've now pretty much destroyed our master bedroom with piles of this and that sorted out

Try adding in 50 hours of work and travel time! I am amazed that our house has not deteriorated into squalor.. but the more time we spend at work, the less time we have to mess it up. I think that this is our only saving grace.
