Robin, I wish you lived closer so you could come and visit Kinky... your worries would be no more

I know 6-8' sounds big... but when you grow with them, learn their temperaments and attitudes, you still see them as babies. Big butt babies, but babies all the same!

Actually I believe there are Colombian BCCs as well... but definately not as common as the Colombian BCIs...

So if I remember this right.

BCI's have the more circular dorsal patterning.

BCC's have the widows peak dorsal patterning.

Correct! But they are quite rare, and would be very expensive. I suppose I should have clarified... when a boa is deemed a Columbian it usually means they are the more common BCI. I think someone selling a Columbian BCC would tell you it was a BCC

Here some more info on the Columbians (mentions both the BCI and BCC): http://riobravoreptiles.com/boas_colombian.htm

Actually, BCI's can have widows peaks too... though it isn't as common.

There are many differences: scalation, coloring, patterning. I posted one of his pages above, but check out Gus Rentfro's page, www.riobravoreptiles.com for more info on the differences between localities.

Rab, RDR has dwarf boas right now. I have seen them in person, and they can be kept in CB-70's to give you an idea of size. The biggest one I saw was definately bigger than a ball, but was still only 5 or 6 feet. Maybe would eat a large rat. But definately manageable. I plan to get a pair of them from him next year hopefully.
