Sorry, just saw this. Honestly? I wanted him to be let go anyway. But I think it really speaks to his lack of character that he quit in the manner that he did.
He called a staff meeting that lasted all of 10 seconds to say "just thought I'd let you know I'm resigning - thanks!" and walked out. Called Arthur Blank - didn't give him the decency of a face to face and left a letter for the players.
When Warrick Dunn is willing to speak out against you with his reaction, that's saying something - one of the most moral and upstanding guys on the team.
From what I've read, this is Petrino's modis operandi.

What message does that send to the team about dedication?
Tell me about it - he told his players after their loss on Monday night that they all needed to take a hard look in the mirror to determine what they were made of and come back ready to work on Wednesday. Guess he figured he was made of silly putty.
