The worst petstore in the world(its not a petco)

I took a chance and talked to the owner of a local shop. He was a know-it-all and would not listen. I turned them into the Better Business Bureau. Not sure why, but they are now closed; a good thing IMO

Take a chance and talk to the owners. Bring in some good care sheets and point out that happy healthy animals sell better than sickly dying ones. If money is a big part of owning the store that might give them some motivation to clean up their act. Even if its just for the money and the store acts upon losing money due to dead animals, at least the animals will be better off. If they dont change, then report them.

turn them in! i think that educating them would just fall on deaf ears! they only care about $ they don't even care about selling half healthy animals! i hate to hear about things like this and i can't imagine how you felt seeing it first hand. please get these uncaring sob's out of the pet trade before some poor person buys a sick pet or worse they torture an animal to death!

Heck yeah! Turn their butts in! And that's BS that they don't feed them to save money! I know at Petsmart we get stuff from corporate that is "For Store Use Only" so we don't even pay for it. And if we do use our product, or feeders (fish and crickets) we write it off in log book. Some people are just dumb. It makes me mad when people knock pet stores, because not all of us are retarded like these people. And it's these morons that give the pet store owners and employees who actually give a damn and know what they are doing a bad name.

Sounds like Daves Tropical Fish, here. Personally if the owners anything like the guy here, he's going to 'know everything' and blow you off. Its your choice really on what you do. I'd try and talk to him, but if all else fails, report him.

How depressing. It is so awful to see that sort of thing! I hope you can help them shape up or ship out, no matter what route you take. I know it's hard, but it's great that you are taking action to help those poor animals.

Someday, aliens will come to this planet and find humans to be cool "pets." Then the people who treated animals like that will, themselves, end up in cages, naked, in their own feces wondering why all they can eat is Fruit Loops w/ no milk. Oh, and have no hides!

This evening we went out to dinner and decided to visit a new petstore in peoria.I was so Pd off as soon as i walked in i had to turn around and leave before i said something .The first thing was all the snakes were lying in wood chips that were soaked with visable water.This included corns,balls,boas and a blood python(i know they need a higher humidity level).Then they had puppies in 3 x 3 wire cages(one had 5 ),of course no water and poo everywhere .This really makes me sick that i am debating just turning this place in or going to the owner and seeing if i can show them the PROPER ways to house these reptiles.Of course if they get stupid i will fire back and end up calling the authorities anyway .They also had tortises and other reptiles but i did not give them a good look over .It just makes me pd off that in a NEW mall that they would allow a pig stye of a petstore to open there .What would you do?
