Because BP are not arboreal snakes they are ground dwellers, yes they can climb but they can also fall very easily as they are pretty clumsy.

Ground dwellers snakes have different requirements than arboreal snakes.

Would I house a Carpet python in a tub that is 6 inches high? NO

Would I house a BP in a tub that is 15 inches high? NO

If it work for you great, however the height is not needed, and I can tell you that the majority of people housing their BP in plastic tubs use tubs that are no higher than 6/7 inches, if you don't believe me, make a new thread with a poll and you will see for yourself.
