I don't think they would find it amusing to watch the animal die "brutally". I don't get entertainment out of feeding live, but it's that mindset that makes these people hate us, because they believe we only feed live to watch the animal suffer, when that is usually not the case. I feed live because of the animals that refuse FT or PK. Also convenience and because it is also more humane than stunning or whacking.

Dont thaw the rat in the microwave. Not only can it explode, but your cooking the rat. Thaw it in a bowl at room temperature for several hours then heat it up to feed. OR, put it in a ziplock bag and thaw in hot water for a half and hour before you feed it to your snake. (make sure it's not cool when you squeeze the tummy or firm)
