Very calm snake!!
I was watching tv while holding Riley when she seemed to be struggling. Come to find out she was stuck in the belt loop of my jeans. She had gotten in so far she looked like a ballon tied in the middle. She was in so tight I couldn't get a blade between her and the material. I was very surprised how calm she stayed. I had to remove the pants , then slowly saw thru the belt loop. It took over 20 minutes to get it off her. I had to work slowly so as not to cut her. She coiled around my hand and held on, but laid so still till I was done. I would have taken a pic, but was concerned about having her circulation cut off those few extra minutes it would have taken.. After being released she curled up in my arms as if nothing happened. I have had snakes get trapped before and they tend to thrash like crazy.

Yeah, the pics would have been interesting. She is doing fine. Her last owner named her Riley, I liked it so it stuck.

First of all, I'm glad to hear your snake is okay and doing well. Sounds like she was a real champ through the ordeal!
However, I was wondering; did you saw through the belt loop itself or did you just pick out the stitches holding it to the pants?

I had to actually saw thru the material of the pants loop. She was in there so tight she was squeezed down to half her girth. The belt loop was stretched so tight it had turned back on itself making it impossible to get to those threads. That is what scared me . The only wat to get her out was to hope she would lay still and saw thru from the top side. I was so afraid she would panic and get cut. I could see her watching my every move, but she was as still as could be. I was amazed that she wasn't harmed.

That's neat that she was watching you work on it. I am glad she is OK. I'm sure we all get some crazy moments with our snakes - like us almost losing our BP into the couch frame b/c our 3 yr old was not paying attention while holding him - luckily I was!

I am glad that you got her out safely. I think that this should be a warning to all.. I never personally thought of this happening, and I live in bluejeans.. Wow!

Actually I thought she had gotten down in the couch. I tugged and she didn't move. That's when Kelly said it looked like she was thru my belt loop.
