ball python breathing problem

you know hat, i think i figured it out. my albino was in there to. i remeber her startling him and he put his head under the water. he could have inhaled some water and thats why he was open mouth breathing. and the slight weezing sound could have been him trying to get that water out of his nose! and it did come out i watched some water come out of his nose. maybe thats what happend eh?

Bump his heat up to 95-96 on the hot side and 86-87 on the cool side, and also make it very humid(not wet). This will help until you can get to the vet.

Is the snake in a tank? If so, you're just working against yourself. Get a small tub, put the UTH on, and possibly cover the whole tub in an electrical heating blanket, or get a room heater.

Also, Balls don't need soaked UNLESS they are having a poor shed. Soaking them any other time just dries their skin out and predisposes them to having bad sheds, like how we get wrinkly when swimming.

Or it could be mucus which is also a sign of RI.

no it wasnt i felt it it had a very low viscosity. im sure it was water. plus it had no abnormal coloration or anything. im hoping that what i evplained earlyer was what acctually happend.

You had both of them swimming in the tub at the same time?

And it could be that he inhaled water in his lung, which also need veterinary attention. Is there a reason you are trying to rationalize not taking him to a vet?
