They were named , by John Edward Gray (Keeper of the British Museum Zooligical Department) after his mentor, John George Children, who was the Curator of the British Museum Zoological Department.
I can't speak for Heath, but Antaresia Spp. (Stimsoni, Childreni, Maculosa and Perthensis) are small hardy snakes with a ton of personality. They are easy to keep, easy to feed, easy to breed and for the most part, extremely handleable.
