I'm my own boss, so i have no one to complain too!( I don't listen to myself very well). My biggest stress is trying to get paid, no guarrantees for the self employed.

    Re: your darned day job..

The only frustrating thing about my job is that there aren't enough hours in the day some days to get it all done ... but the coolest part is that when I start to get bummed, all I need to do is pull out a pied or an albino or a lesser and chill for a little bit ... then it's ALL GOOD.

I wouldn't trade my job for the world. Of course I work for two demanding little kids (and let's not forget the hubby too), but I think I'll keep them. I love that I have the luxury of staying home and taking care of them, even if I have days that I want to strangle the little devils. Especially when I get those special hugs/snuggles and the 'You're the best mommy ever!'

    Re: your darned day job..

I love my job as far as the people and kind of work. But let me tell you about stress!!.
My job is to cover several positions, a crew of about 15 men doing welding and fabrication now.
supervisor (paperwork, discipline, some hr issues)
leadman ( job setups, training, parts finding, trouble shooting, inspections, etc.)
material handler (Moving stuff in and out of locations, such as parts, fixtures,& inventory record keeping, etc.)
    Then occasionally as :
    medical response,
dock hand for trucks that didn't make it in on day shift to be unloaded or loaded.
engineering issues as much as I'm capable of handling.
receptionist.(the only one on nights that knows how to answer a phone.)
    Basic maint.
There is more, but I think I just short cicuited.

You will be alright, just get some stress management practices going for you.

I definately appreciate the fact that I have a job and can work. But sometimes I really think I need a vacation at least.. I have some time off accumulated and maybe I will just take a week off to catch up on life.

    Re: your darned day job..

About two years ago, I briefly worked at a clay plant. I was the only woman working there, and I had a fantastic boss that allowed me to just answer the phones and do a small amount of work, then study for school as much as I pleased. There was ZERO drama. The guys were fantastic and treated me like a queen. I had to deal with truckers on a daily basis. So the only downside of the job was being hit on constantly. A woman's wrath at a job is insane. I would rather be hit on by truckers all day than be schemed on by my coworkers.

    Re: your darned day job..

I agree, men are very cut and dry and so good humored (most of the time). If things at my previous jobs were better, I would have stuck around just for the co-workers. I hate gossip, I just want to have a good time and do some work. I would rather get hit on all day then having women worry about how I dress or talk. :/
