I use a digital scale from Walmart that weighs up to 5 pounds. It can be set for grams or ounces, though I use grams, since most BP weighers seem to.
If I have a particularly active snake (like my boa) I will use a snake bag to put it in for restraint. I get the weight of the bag beforehand though and just subtract it off.
