I agree with the statement that all boas are different. All snakes are different, with different attitudes, temperaments, and habits.
I have a female boa who will eat whenever, however, whatever. But, she's also a big adult female. I have a little baby hypo that won't do anything but hiss when he's in blue---because he's small and can't see well, I think anything that moves around him is considered a possible threat. A boa that little, in the wilderness, would be considered easy pickings for a large bird of prey... and anything that would try to eat him would be coming from above, thus his wariness.
That said, he will eat if I leave the mouse in his hide and walk away.
My advice: I would leave him alone for a day or two, see if he sheds out. If he still hasn't, but you want to try feeding again, just leave the prey item in his hide. If he doesn't eat it overnight, take it as a lesson learned---your dude doesn't eat while in shed.
And devil-dog... I believe in listening to any and all advice. No one person is totally right or totally wrong. Just because plummer's boas act differently and he has had different reactions doesn't mean we should just not listen to him.... You both made some excellent points!!!![]()
