First morph for breeding?

I agree with having pastels in your breeding stock but the first morph you get should be the one you want the most! You are gonna have this animal for a LONG time and take care of it so it should be what you really enjoy waking up to everyday wether it's an albino, caramel, spider, cinny, lesser or pastel. Whatever floats your boat will make it worth it to you when you make more and/or combos. Hard to pick one I don't like, LOL

You absolutely can not go wrong with pastels... One reason being that there is so much room for improvement.... For years, people have been breeding any pastel they can get their hands on to any female capable of laying eggs.... The results have been a mutation that is all over the place with regards to looks... Some are beautiful and some are just downright ugly.... I would suggest looking at a LOT of different pastels, and decide where you want to go with it. Do you want a more yellow pastel, or more orange? Do you like patterns that are reduced? Busy Jungle like patterns? or Granites? Do you like a more defined pattern with bold sharp edges or one that is more blurry and looks like wispy clouds? Once you have 'Your Vision' firmly in mind, Then buy the best looking pastel male money can buy and a bunch of normal girls that you think can help you achieve YOUR look. It may take many years to achieve the look you want... But in the end, people will come to you looking to buy pastels with the 'Big E' look. Now that the mutation is so widespread, selective breeding really is the way to go these days...

My roomate and I were facing this same choice earlier in the year and, in keeping with what most people are suggesting, we both ended up with a pastel. There just seem to be so many combos that they are a part of, not to mention their very reaosnable price and gorgeous looks. I still can't get over how pretty my little boy is. Hope this helps!

Very good point Mark. Why would it matter if the BP was a male Pastel instead of a female? This has also been on my mind as to the pros and cons of either or. Hope this does not get to far off topic so if you have a link I can follow it so that this stays on track.
