I appreciate your attempts to help (?), but I assure you the situation is under control.

There is a difference between force feeding and assist feeding. Sometimes baby pythons don't begin feeding on their own and after one or couple of assist feeds their metabolism and feeding respose kicks on on they are fine. I had one hatchling this year that needed one assist feed, sometimes they need a few. Now this girl is a chow hound and is feeding fine. It's done all the time after many attempts to get hatchlings started.

I tried to start him normally using every trick in the book. Eventually it was clear that if i didn't get a meal into him, he'd be on a pinky pump within a few weeks and at high risk for... well... death.
He still isn't doing it on his own, but at least we're keeping an okay weight, and he doesn't look like an old leather sandbag anymore.
I'm still working with him. Assist-feeding is a pain in the keester and a huge stress on everyone involved. I look forward to not having to do it anymore.

Some just never get the idea. Keep working with it and hope for the best.
