The main cool thing is that it proves that it's possible for platy X platy to produce a normal looking offspring.
The allele theory for platy is the only one I've heard so far that makes since so I think this is a homozygous for the hidden/sib/dilute mutation. Too bad it's a female as it will take a long time to grow up but hopefully RDR will then breed it to a homozygous lesser leucistic and let us know if it produces 100% platy as predicted by the allele theory.
By the way, RDR should have lots of homozygous hidden/sib/dilute adults from his many crosses of normal looking patty offspring together. The problem is that it's only 25% of those clutches and apparently looks normal.
