Re: New to site and to Having a BP

    Welcome to the hobby!!!

I'm another testament to the addiction of snakes...I've wanted one for over 20 years, and then when I got one...within two years I went from ONE to 24!

hahahahaha But they're not all balls. The majority of them are, but the rest are boas, corns, a Texas rat, a Stimson's, a Nelson's, a Kenyan sand boa and we added on pet rats.

Snakes don't really "love" us, but since we're an excellent source of heat for them, they "like" us really well!

Let Mr. Snake settle in 48 hrs after feeding, use the same feeding routine and schedule from week to week and he'll probably do very well for you! My snakes always take about 10-12 days from very first blue to actual shedding. After a time or two, you'll get his body's routine learned and understood.

Oh, just be careful....usually they'll leave us presents all wrapped up in the shed skin.... or somewhere near by... and OFTEN in the hide (right after we've cleaned the tub/tank/cage).

OK, sorry to revive an old thread - but I just had to.

We got Mrs. Snake (BP) on 8/23/07 and Morty (KSB) on 10/27/07. Wow, you were soooo close! How the heck could you predict that?

    I pick up #3, a Rosy Boa, on Monday - he's a rescue. Yee-haw! I can't wait!

Mrs. Snake (turns out she's a GIRL!) is a little over a yr old, we guess. Morty, our KSB is almost 3 months old. The Rosy Boa we're getting Monday is probably about 4 months old. Sorry that I didn't answer when you asked. I didn't know about subscribing to threads back then! LOL
