If you want to troll a stamp collector: Get some really nice mint stamps, put them in expensive protective plastic crystal mounts to keep them same safe, and then *scotch tape* them INSIDE the crystal mounts so they can't fall out.
Aside from the fact that the scotch tape effectively brings the value of the stamp down to zero, it will also stain the stamps as it ages as well.
I saw an entire collection at an antique store like this...there was about $100 (street value) worth of loose stamps that were not scotch taped, but, the asking price for the collection was $200...I would have gladly purchased the collection had there been no scotch tape involved...
