Those red candies on a stick I showed above: I really expected them to be on a stick. False advertising! I'm disappointed.

I was under the impression these were dried tomatoes or something. I guess I should have looked closer...

These are Hawthorn berries that have been pitted, dried, sugared, and sesame seeds added.

They have a super hard shell and once you use a disturbing amount of jaw strength to crack them and bite through-my gf describes it as 'Getting slapped in the face with tangy-ness'.
I daresay these are the most tangy things I've eaten since I sampled a variety of authentic Indian sauces. lol I'm not a huge fan of these candies, but, my gf scarfed them all down within an hour-and she would definitely make me buy them again...

I should also mention they are about a year past their expiration date. Almost much everything I bought (at a legit asian supermarket-no less) was past expiration (upon review). I suppose that is something I should keep an eye out for in the future...
I'll be honest, you don't have to worry about me competing with you for any of those things, even with better expiration dates.

That's funny that you thought those were made with actual tomatoes. Living in Korea for a year taught me that it's very common in some Asian countries to call things by what the item reminds them of, regardless of what it actually is, & while that was years ago, your experience seems to indicate that things haven't changed all that much. It would be nice if they put the word in quotes- like "tomatoes"- to give a hint.
