With tempting fruit trees nearby, I can imagine how little "peace" you got.But not bad for a once-in-a-lifetime memory.
The only howlers I've met were in the National Zoo (D.C.) years ago, when I volunteered there (in the "monkey house) & brought them, their Colobus neighbors & many others their "breakfast".
That volunteering sounds pretty amazing too tho Bogertophis
