...I guess my only concern would be the heat on the PVC sheets from the lamp. Do you think that it would release chemicals if heated?

It might, & personally, I'd test this FIRST, before using on the enclosure with a snake. See if you can smell anything- be sure to test this for long enough. I'm not much of a PVC fan, in all honesty, & I'd probably use something else entirely. (The foil will conduct heat, as I just thought more about it, & fumes might still escape.)
