Ice-addicted python just one of hundreds of animals in prison rehabilitation

Wow! This is just Sad.... Poor Guy

"An ice-addicted python is among hundreds of animals being rehabilitated at a NSW prison.

The jungle python was seized during a police raid of an ice lab where it had absorbed the drug through its skin, said Ian Mitchell, a senior overseer at the John Morony Correctional Complex in Berkshire Park.

He said the snake's methamphetamine addiction made it more confused, erratic and aggressive than it would normally be and it needed six weeks of detoxification at the prison's wildlife care centre."

Never even knew that this could actually happen. That’s crazy.

    A) Horrible story that I never in a million years would have thought could be real. Human depravity knows no bounds.

    B) Incredible that the prison has a reptile rehabilitation program and is putting time, money and effort into the rehabilitation of this snake and others!!! Human kindness knows no bounds!!

You know, maybe in a way this will help them to see themselves (..."made it more confused, erratic and aggressive than it would normally be...") thru this snake, & thus help with their rehab too? For sure, working with animals tends to have a positive influence on ppl in prison. I love those programs where they learn to train dogs to be service dogs for others...a lot of good comes out of that too, for the shelter dogs they save & for the inmates working with them.
