If you have a 20-gallon tank with two heat lamps you're likely running it too hot already unless your house ambient temp is about 60*F. I would turn off the "day" lamp, run only the red lamp on a thermostat, and cover the rest of the enclosure top with foil to keep heat and humidity in the tank.

At some point your snake will outgrow that tank so start saving up now for a proper reptile enclosure, not just a bigger fish tank.
I only run one heat lamp at a time, and I guess I can return the heat pad I ordered if it doesnt have a thermostat.
