So I’m going to try posting a photo or at least a link at the end of this post. I just got my boy Apache on the 16th. Left him alone for a week to settle and he has eaten for me. I go to clean his cage today and notice black spots moving around. Then I check him closer and it seems like black spots under his scales. I worry because I believe he weighed 97 grams from the Breeder and seems skinny but I dismissed it as him being a baby (I know terrible conclusion). Now I wonder if mites haven’t been there for two weeks on him...
What measures can I take to treat him? I’ve never dealt with mites before and him being a baby I’m super worried about them being on him since he’s so small. I’ve got Reptile Mite Spray being shipped and I’ll use it on him Saturday when it gets here but that seems so far away. I tried soaking him for several minutes but he wasn’t cooperative and I didn't want to stress him more as I had him out about 20min already scrubbing down his tub/decor.
Help and suggestions are much appreciated. I have two other snakes and I don’t want this to spread. What are good preventatives? And is there a “home remedy” I could try tomorrow? I really don’t want to stress my little boy Apache out but I also want him to get better.
