Without seeing the "head wobble" I'm not sure exactly what you mean, but it occurs to me that maybe your BP was extending his head & neck vertically while swallowing?
If so, that might explain the wobble: snakes (& especially young snakes) don't have a lot of vertical muscle strength in their neck, but I've seen snakes do this now & then.
If that's not what yours did, we'll need a video...
