Not sure What is Going On?!?

Take a look at this picture. He has been doing this for over an hour now. he normally does this while he is waiting for his food to thaw above, but he just ate last night so I know he cannot be hungry. he leans back so far sometimes I think he is going to fall over backwards. I know it is not easy to tell from the picture, but he is not leaning against anything. He is actually kind of wobbling a little bit sometimes to stay vertical. Is anything wrong with him?

Snakes have a superb sense of smell...my guess is that he's still smelling the scent of prey that was previously on his "roof", & hoping that more will fall from
the sky. As far as "he can't be hungry"...snakes stay in "food mode" for anywhere from hours to days, & in the wild they cannot afford to miss meals, so don't
think that just because he just ate, he'd refuse more. Snakes aren't that strong for staying vertical...it's normal that he's wobbling some...no, I wouldn't be ready
to call this "star-gazing" or anything other than your snake is still smelling food & being an optimist.

LOL thanks ma'am! I have thawed his food in the same manner for months and he has never done this before so it struck me as odd.Little man is really getting big though. He's getting more fat than long however. Ever since his 6 week hunger strike was broken over 2 months ago, he is eaten like clockwork every week!

So look at the bright side...he's working on his abs.

Could be that he smells food as mentioned above, but also are his temps okay? Snakes can also do that if they are overheating.

Yeah, my guess is he's smelling a lingering scent of his dinner. He's probably still in "feed mode" as well, so the combo is causing him to explore for more food.

They are opportunistic eaters, so just because they just ate doesn't mean they won't again if the opportunity presents itself.
