    Where to get ASF rats?

I'm thinking about starting an asf colony for feeders, and also because I honestly think it will be fun. Did anyone here know a good pace to get them? Not having the best with Google.

Re: Where to get ASF rats?

    What is your location?

Live rodents are prohibitively expensive to ship. Unlike reptiles, rodents have to be shipped overnight via plane like dogs and cats. Only other way is to pay/know someone making the trip from their origin who can drive them (price varies).

Best way to get relevant info is to say where you're at/willing to drive to to pick them up.

ASF are illegal in several states including GA, CA and more so you may or may not be able to find them.

They are not that enjoyable, hard to breed (production is low compare to rats and mice), escape artists, more aggressive and some snakes will not touch them.

    Where to get ASF rats?

I want to start a colony of ASF's for my BP's, but I can't seem to find anyone willing to ship live ones anywhere, and no one in my area seems to sell them. Can someone show me where to get these guys?

(I thought I posted this earlier, but I never saw it show up. I am not sure if I made a mistake or broke the rules. If so, I am sorry, I never received any notifications)

Whats up. I ran into the same problem and utilized a facebook group in my local area and managed to find someone breeding some as pets. Maybe try that would be my suggestion. Maybe Craigslist too in the community section. Never know. But facebook groups are a great resource for me.

Re: Where to get ASF rats?

    I have tried both, unfortunately.
(edit) I just realized why I never saw the original post. it is because I posted it in the rat breeder forum and not here. I am dumb. Sorry.)

Re: Where to get ASF rats?

I live in Georgia. Of course they are illegal here. Everything is. Dang. I should have known. This is why I don't own any corn snakes, even though I really like them. I wanted the asf's mostly because they don't produce so much (I don't have a large amount of snakes), and because BP's are supposed to love them.
