The worst part about a bite is not reacting. Jumping back sucks, but once u get out of that it’s not to bad. And I say that without much experience being bitten so don’t trust me lol. I’m good at reading them and only get tagged by babies because I don’t care. Haven’t had a big snake bite me yet. Sure it will happen some day as I want to start a herping club in Houston

I got it when I wasn't looking. I assume that's what happened based on the patterning. It was like road rash from hell. It was years ago when I was a stupid kid who owned snakes he shouldn't have.

My juvenile Bredli is sweet as pie. All of my carpets are actually. I think they just get a bad rap.

My prior and current experience with carpets says the same. I had an adult jungle mix, subadult Irian Jaya, and hatchling coastal many years ago...only the hatchling was nippy at first, the other two were sweethearts. My new guy is proving to be a sweetie as well.

Re: My first bite!!
I would be getting her from a friend who breeds carpets. The bredli just isn't fitting into his breeding plan so I offered to buy her. She's a yearling. He says most it the time she's really cool but has her moods just like any other animal. I'm confident with enough work she'll be as sweet as pie. She's gonna be the last addition for a while. Or at least until October Tinley!
