I was thinking of insulating a cardboard box with styrofoam and newspaper with a hand warmer or 2. Will that be too much? I just don't want them to get too cold on the long ride home. Any advice would be very much appreciated.
see you there, OP! look out for the famous BP.net fanny pack

1. IMO the #1 thing is safely securing your snake. the car has alotta nooks and crannies and an unsecured snake can get lost in it and hurt themselves: https://ball-pythons.net/forums/show...ehind-the-dash tie up the snake bag or securely seal the delicup lid and put them in a vented tub, cooler or other lockable container.

2. if u are warm and cozy in your car, so will you new snake that's being transported. i hope that your car heater and fan nowhere near approaching Death Valley 110-plus degree temps but a warm and comfortable ambient temps is all u need. no heat pack is necessary. that's only needed for box shipping through multiple time zones and/or climates when the snake has no heat source.
this is p much all you need to know. good luck and have fun!!!
