Put him in a small Tupperware box with water up to his midsection with a towel. Put the whole thing in the cage to keep it warm for an hour. The old shed should come off easy.
Cage humidity is only a small part. Most shed issues are from an inadequately hydrated animal. I would inject the feeders with water. I don't even raise humidity when in shed and both mine have perfect sheds.
