Kind of ironic that a venomous lizard is ok but not snakes. I guess its the fact that snakes can easily kill you with a bite where as gilas and beaded lizards will just make you wish you died unless you are allergic to their venom like a bee sting and then you could go into anaphylactic shock and die.
In that case, have at it. Actually some venomous snakes are likely to just "make you wish you died" too.
