    New hide spot

So since last night I noticed my bp digging into the substrate and hiding under the clear rubbermaid container i have as his water bowl. Been a little tight on cash lately and didnt want to spend $20 on one, so I out a 6x6 in rubbermaid square container in his tank. I've had it in there for like 2 weeks and just now he decides to hide under it and spill the water over. The bowl is on the cool side which is right at 77° right now. The hot side is 89°. So it's not that it's too hot on that side. But why start doing it now?? Kinda weird to me. And it's clear dude..I can see you under there...you're not hiding lol. Any ideas why he might be doing this? I moved him out twice and fixed the bowl and substrate but he keeps going there. He's been there for a few hours now.
    Thanks

    He is trying to thermoregulate
He needs to have a hide on the cool side and the warm side where he can completely get in and not be seen

If you can't afford to buy one right now find something around the house you can use where he can get in and not be seen

They have to have totaled seclusion were you can't see them and they can't see you

I can find something. I'll have to rearrange his tank a bit . I just got him a new log last week. So I'll have to make room. Eventually ill get a slightly bigger tank so everything fits good

Thats good. A hide is probably the most top priority thing you need to have. 1 in cool & 1 in heated area. If they don't have a proper high they can get very stressed out and that will cause him not to eat
