Thanks for the responses! I had a hard time deciding between a colubrid or something else for my first snake, and since finding out about black milksnakes I don't think I'd want to settle on anything else, they're so beautiful and their temperament/care requirements are pretty amazing.

Are colubrids significantly messier than boids? I of course know they eat and poop more often... I'm already so used to my slow-paced boa haha.
