35 years old, worked as a 3rd and 2nd officer on board commercial dry bulk ships for 5 years. Loved it but was away for about 8 months out of the year. Made a change 8 years ago and took an office job as a vessel operations manager working with tankers and dry bulk ships. I miss life at sea but on the bright side I get to go home every day to my family , still work with ships and I can fool myself into thinking i'm a herpetologist with a growing collection.
