Id aimfor the BEL ...go cinni mojo & then PM me so we can talk lol...

lsuper sweet vibes tho I’m sure you’re feeling the love ...
    ..

I’m sure they are not trying to discourage you Jones, like they all said, "do your thing" but you have to have a plan, & be real, if you follow the forum long enough you will see you are not alone. Plenty of ppl try their hand at breeding BPs and ask for help here... but with this request for help comes sometimes “harsh” (pending how sensitive you are) criticism from our members, you will have to expect when they read a vague “I want to breed…” post vs a post just introducing yourself and how you would like to add to the hobby rather than making a quick buck or just watering down the market

But as Deb said, if you don’t have them qualities for this hobby, this will be a short run. still don’t let anyone take away your passion for your animals. when it comes to Breeding, - sense you have your boy...its going to be a while, your girl is going to run you!! if you plan on starting something anytime soon and you would have to qurenteen (sby 2019...or get eggs by 2020.. you will have to get on the ball, but id just be paitent… (its been almost 3 winters for me and Spell and im dying to see what she has for me lol)

Either way welcome!! Beautiful looking animal, I saw a banana cinni at the show last week... absolutely amazing!! He may have had another gene at play but the guy listed him as a so Anyways nice

Re: Breeding my ball python what morph?

I understand people seeing how much some of these bp go for and just want to make some money. I want to try and breed some beautiful morphs. I know it will be a few years till I can even attempt to breed them. I do have a passion for all animals grew up in a house where we took animals in that are in need as my mom was a veterinarian growing up. I do have a few years to do my research and see what route I want to go in. I am really liking the clown morph. And would like to get into the recessive gene type. Idk it’s just looks like the possibility is limitless and that’s what I feel like I’ll love about this hobby.

I sometimes think I may want to breed eventually. Not because I have some long term eugenics program envisioned, but simply because I like snakes. All BP morphs are beautiful, even the "wild type".

For me, I imagine breeding would be about keeping and enjoying more animals and taking part in a bigger part of their life cycle. That said, you do need to do something with the offspring, otherwise they would start to build up, fast. So any offspring born should be marketable.

Your little fella has three nice co-dominant genes. In the interest of keeping more snakes and having marketable offspring, I would look to match him with a visual recessive, like a ghost or clown. If that visual recessive had one of the three co-doms already present in your male, that would be even better as it would open the possibility for a "super" form.

That way, you'd produce all het recessive offspring with a wide range of possible combinations. From what I've heard, recessive traits are almost always desirable to somebody.

But whatever you're into! Good luck!

I feel you .. & that is awesome!! and im going to wish you mad luck homie!!

but Who cares long as your taking care of your animals…but sometimes it is best to have a little patience with this tho... we will need it tho, especially when dealing with the breeding process. I myself have only researched, researched, (as I’m sure you have) asked questions, and researched some more... as I hope to have some crazy looking purple, black(,) and white BPs.. #goals... but that will be probably late next year... and only if my odds are there...balah balah balah ...lol.. but I am honestly looking for a new male lol (possibly putting timing and all tha off but will be worth it if i can get my purp

I been here for almost a yr, grabbed my girl almost 2 yrs (3rd winter) and grabbed her BF a few months ago as I plan on breeding but again it WILL NOT be to $upport my daughter lol.. Just for my personal collection. To get what I hope to produce and if I am lucky I will be re-reading bator threads lol

It’s like when Ash Ketchum found the Joto league ... the p00p just gets deeper lol.. put on ya seatbelts cause it’s going to be bumpy ride lol

I feel you JR.. and if the $ is there go for it!!..

it would be working backwards to not use what you already have,
    it is y i wanted a female,
the only reason y i didnt INVEST in a male is, you will have to work around him while a female you kinda know what you are dealing with, as well as the value when they are mature not just for $ign but as a breeder to other's projects too
so just get your self a nice banana something female ... i know i checked maybe few buck but again if you want that super ... there is only one way to go for a supa nanna
