I heard there's a similar photo shared by firefighters from the recent California wildfires of a rattlesnake in a strike pose that had nowhere to flee from the fire & tried
in vain to fight back... Horrible way to lose life, no matter what species. Sorry I saw this one (above), might have nightmares. (the other was only described
to me)
