ok this is a really quick and simplified how to from my phone app...
for the playas on yo team - whether they're healthy, injured, suck or whatever - click on them to pull up their profile. from there u can do many things like:
1. drop them from your team.
2. move them up to starting or down to the bench. like if your guy is injured or suspended, but u want to keep him until he gets back into the game, have him ride the bench.
maybe u cut/dropped someone or just want to see who's available...
3. click on Players
4. the top available playas are featured of scroll left and right to see who else is available. u may see who's available by position by clicking on the positions.
you may propose a trade by going clicking on another team.
5. then u will see the trade button. choose from their roster and propose yours. they may accept, reject or propose a counter.
the layout may be optimized and different on a tablet and is def. different on a desktop, but the concepts are all the same.
