    Yes, it is a CHE with a dimmer. I was told that a thermostat would make the CHE burn out quicker? I did in fact move it and I'm letting it set a while so I can see where I'm at. Thank you for your help as well!!
    You can use a dimmer as added protection in case thermostat fails.

    However, all heat sources must be regulated by thermostat.

    I don’t think it will make it burn out quicker. However, would you rather replace a CHE a little early, or replace your snake?
