Soaking....
Do BPs enjoy soaking? I've seen people say they do, so I'd need to provide a large water bowl. Other people have told me they don't. Also have seen people say they'll only soak if something is wrong. So, I'm confused on which is correct. Just want to get her husbandry correct before my Imogen arrives. TIA!

the "correct" answer is that each animal is an individual, so there will never be one singular "answer" to any question regarding behavior. some like to soak, some don't.
if you are positive in your temperatures, your humidity, and your overall husbandry being correct, and have taken the time to ensure everything is correct, then a soaking snake shouldn't cause concern (though it always does hahaha).
i hope this helped.

The majority of ball pythons will only soak if the temps are too hot, the enclosure is too dry/dehydrated, or if they're infested with mites. Most don't enjoy soaking. So seeing a bp soak just means to check up on your husbandry, just in case.
But that's not to say an individual bp out there will still soak for no reason, even if everything else is okay LOL. They're individual snakes, you never know. =P
